It’s spring again! Though these past couple days most certainly did NOT feel like spring, it IS coming. Temps are gonna climb and that can only mean one thing- time to hang clothes outside again!
C’mon, you know you want to try it this year, right? Okay, picture this: it’s early in the morning and the kids are eating breakfast or off at school. You’re outside with a warm spring breeze blowing through your hair and the birds are chirping in the trees. You wonder how you ever waited so long to try this…
No?
Okay, so maybe the kids are screaming inside the house and maybe you live in the city or are part of a condo association that (heaven, forbid) would never allow such a thing as a clothes line.
How about a drying rack inside?
It’s been about a year now since we’ve been hanging clothes on a line, either inside or out. We’ve saved easily over a hundred dollars on our electric bills this year, and a whole lotta carbon output. Even hanging just a few loads a month makes a difference.
Other good reasons to hang clothes:
* You don’t have to wait around for the dryer to stop so you can pull your clothes out before they wrinkle.
* Your clothes last longer. (That lint in the dryer is your clothes…falling apart.)
* If you’re hanging indoors during the winter, you’re adding much-needed moisture to the air.
To be a little more discreet about our environmental laundry habits, we found this clothesline that can be pulled out and put away when necessary.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time to let it all hang out. (Or at least some of it.)
